Oh btw, actually in a western culture (since we're talking/communicating in English), we never greet another person with "elder" instead we greet one to another by name. But here since we're Asian, i think and i suggest it would be better if we greet one to another or other people using "sister/brother" without the word of "elder" cause you know.. it feels a bit weird, doesn't it? cheers and good luck :*

Now I know the truth behind it: the meat that I ate in lapo, it was meat of a lazy fat piggy (when it still alive).

Hi lil sissy Ester168 : Usually they use "slang word" which the definition and the usage can't replace the word of "kakak/abang/mas dsb" in Indo just like what we used to have. Here, the term of "big brother/sista/lil brother/sista" etc more look like represent how close you're to the person.

For example : you can't say "thank you old brother/sista for bla bla bla.." --> if you did this, this can be considered a bit weird and i think to some extend can be considered rude as well. cause the way you greet the other person is a lil bit unappropriate (well, the lattest one was according to my experience and my conclusion i guess, lol).

but you can say something like this " he's my big (lil) brother/sister" (and I bet this one was the one that you heard many times on the telly, right?)
