Nice post sis Maya...Acceptance means allow them to be who they are and give space to find their own path.
This concept shifted me out of a judging, ego mindset and back into a loving :)

Sis glory, having said that you are a language teacher, a question to you.. What do you think a high school teacher should improve to have a better performance of high school graduate given the fact that high school output always fall below the standard when it comes to univ. requirement? Narrow it in your context, ok

Right...and wish we can inspire our students not only love the academics but also have the Godly caharacter :)

We've been questioning it for such a long time.. Unfortunately, our current educational system focuses on getting the right answer and passing the test. Discarding the real purpose of teaching.
The role for educators are to coach and nurture students' interest rather than focus on formal teaching activity.
In addition, educators should be ready with the frequent changes of curriculum, making classroom research then finding the right approach to improve student's skills

Your eye is on the sparrow
And Your hand, it comforts me
From the ends of the Earth to the depth of my heart
Let Your mercy and strength be seen
You call me to Your purpose
As angels understand
For Your glory, may You draw all men
As Your love and grace demand
And I will run to You
To Your words of truth
Not by might, not by power
But by the Spirit of God
Yes, I will run the race
'Till I see Your face
Oh let me live in the glory of Your grace

Yes a good point. I found it 'real' coaching & nurturing students' passion & interest would contribute a lot to the output as was & still is practiced by western aducational system.
Firgive me to put the point that concerns us, the budget was raised so significantly by the Govt, but the rate of educator's quality improvement is not in line with the increase in budget spending (in my opinion), at least in our context. Hope to see it better soon. Thanks anyway for sharing 👌

Good morning sist and bro in this forum, I have questions. Please give me your opinion.
According to my research, there are several types of university students:
1. High intelligence students: Students with really high GPA. Most of them get cumlaude, magna, even magna. They are usually serious in study.
2. Normal students: Students with normal achievement. Some of them enroll the university because they want to get good job in future.
3. Happy Go-Lucky students: Students with low motivation in study. They love to play too much. Some of them even don't care with the lesson in class.
There are several other classifications but my questions are:
1. What do you think about this phenomenon?
2. Do you think that past educational systems (highschool education) involve this phenomenon of university students?
3. Do you have some advices so educators can improve themselves within the differences of their students?
Feel free to give opinions.
Thank you all..

Got it, bro Christian!
Govt has contributed a lot, for example, Indonesian School Operational Assistance Program, unfortunately, some schools aren't responsible enough about the use of it.
Spending alot of money doesn't guarantee the improvement, accountability does

Different point of view.😊
All the above questions not merely the educators responsibility.
The basic responsibility still in the hands of their parents. Though the students are old enough to make decisions to determine what kind of major they want to study with. They are still in theirs' parents responsibility.
Mostly students with excellent study achivement due to their own intelligency and or what they learnt is their passion to be. Of course, parents are fully supported both psychological and financial needs.
Normal ones; mostly theirs' parents determine what major should they study. Then they are following their parents' will without hesitation.
Happy go luck, mostly from upper class family. Their parents determine their major and univ. Fully financial supported, lack psychological support. But,,,,,this is definitely NOT the major they want to learn about, at all.
This phenomenon happens all around, especially with curriculum that determine by government. Already shaped from elementary school until high school, what government want their youngster become. It is global phenomenon.
Past high school, not always determine the students. Few private schools have different way of teaching which allow the students blend and cope all of the matters in univ life. But I think not in public school curiculum and educators.
For educators, please do educate passionately. Teach the students as your own children you let them become. Reach their soul and characters.
Junior and high school mostly known as second step of inner-child, after the first step was in their Golden Age (0-5 yo). What their educators teach them at this period, will determine the students to be what kinds of human being in the future.
Lifted-up their spirits. They already may have problem in the family, reach them, love them, nurture them with beautiful life knowledge, prepare them for life not just for univ acceptance.
How bad the students are, they are still kids that need to be loved sincerely. Reach them, then we will know their problems with their parents.
If they passed this second steps of inner-child in loving caring and supporting environments, this students definitely will become great-successfull person without resentment in the future. Well-rounded and full content characters.

Agree. Let's learn from Einstein's story (though it's a true story or not). His mother never underestimate him even his teacher said that he's stupid, give up on him and kick him from school. In the other side, his mother have fully supported him, tells him that he IS a GREAT person, always believe in him and voila, he becomes a legendary GENIUS man.
No matter what, parents fully support is the important thing beyond everything.
