Belajar Baca 5 Ayat Alkitab Sehari Mulai 2017

Filipi 1:15, 18 (TB)  Ada orang yang memberitakan Kristus karena dengki dan perselisihan, tetapi ada pula yang memberitakan-Nya dengan maksud baik.

Tetapi tidak mengapa, sebab bagaimanapun juga, Kristus diberitakan, baik dengan maksud palsu maupun dengan jujur. Tentang hal itu aku bersukacita. Dan aku akan tetap bersukacita,

Philippians 1:15, 18 (NKJV)  Some indeed preach Christ even from envy and strife, and some also from good will:

What then? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is preached; and in this I rejoice, yes, and will rejoice.

Ulangan 32:4, 8-12, 35-36 (TB)  Gunung Batu, yang pekerjaan-Nya sempurna, karena segala jalan-Nya adil, Allah yang setia, dengan tiada kecurangan, adil dan benar Dia.

Ketika Sang Mahatinggi membagi-bagikan milik pusaka kepada bangsa-bangsa, ketika Ia memisah-misah anak-anak manusia, maka Ia menetapkan wilayah bangsa-bangsa menurut bilangan anak-anak Israel.

Tetapi bagian TUHAN ialah umat-Nya, Yakub ialah milik yang ditetapkan bagi-Nya.

Didapati-Nya dia di suatu negeri, di padang gurun, di tengah-tengah ketandusan dan auman padang belantara. Dikelilingi-Nya dia dan diawasi-Nya, dijaga-Nya sebagai biji mata-Nya.

Laksana rajawali menggoyangbangkitkan isi sarangnya, melayang-layang di atas anak-anaknya, mengembangkan sayapnya, menampung seekor, dan mendukungnya di atas kepaknya,

demikianlah TUHAN sendiri menuntun dia, dan tidak ada allah asing menyertai dia.

Hak-Kulah dendam dan pembalasan, pada waktu kaki mereka goyang, sebab hari bencana bagi mereka telah dekat, akan segera datang apa yang telah disediakan bagi mereka.

Sebab TUHAN akan memberi keadilan kepada umat-Nya, dan akan merasa sayang kepada hamba-hamba-Nya; apabila dilihat-Nya, bahwa kekuatan mereka sudah lenyap, dan baik hamba maupun orang merdeka sudah tiada.

Deuteronomy 32:4, 8-12, 35-36 (NKJV)  He is the Rock, His work is perfect; For all His ways are justice, A God of truth and without injustice; Righteous and upright is He.

When the Most High divided their inheritance to the nations, When He separated the sons of Adam, He set the boundaries of the peoples According to the number of the children of Israel.

For the Lord's portion is His people; Jacob is the place of His inheritance.

"He found him in a desert land And in the wasteland, a howling wilderness; He encircled him, He instructed him, He kept him as the apple of His eye.

As an eagle stirs up its nest, Hovers over its young, Spreading out its wings, taking them up, Carrying them on its wings,

So the Lord alone led him, And there was no foreign god with him.

Vengeance is Mine, and recompense; Their foot shall slip in due time; For the day of their calamity is at hand, And the things to come hasten upon them.'

"For the Lord will judge His people And have compassion on His servants, When He sees that their power is gone, And there is no one remaining, bond or free.

Ulangan 33:1, 6-8, 11-16, 18, 20, 22-25, 27 (TB)  Inilah berkat yang diberikan Musa, abdi Allah itu, kepada orang Israel sebelum ia mati.

Biarlah Ruben hidup dan jangan mati, tetapi biarlah orang-orangnya sedikit jumlahnya."

Dan inilah tentang Yehuda. Katanya: "Dengarlah, ya TUHAN, suara Yehuda dan bawalah dia kepada bangsanya. Berjuanglah baginya dengan tangan-Mu, dan jadilah Engkau penolongnya melawan musuhnya."

Tentang Lewi ia berkata: "Biarlah Tumim dan Urim-Mu menjadi kepunyaan orang yang Kaukasihi, yang telah Kaucoba di Masa, dengan siapa Engkau berbantah dekat mata air Meriba;

Berkatilah, ya TUHAN, kekuatannya dan berkenanlah kepada pekerjaannya. Remukkanlah pinggang orang yang melawan dia dan yang membenci dia, sehingga mereka tidak dapat bangkit."

Tentang Benyamin ia berkata: "Kekasih TUHAN yang diam pada-Nya dengan tenteram! TUHAN melindungi dia setiap waktu dan diam di antara lereng-lereng gunungnya."

Tentang Yusuf ia berkata: "Kiranya negerinya diberkati oleh TUHAN dengan yang terbaik dari langit, dengan air embun, dan dengan air samudera raya yang ada di bawah;

dengan yang terbaik dari yang dihasilkan matahari, dan dengan yang terbaik dari yang ditumbuhkan bulan;

dengan yang terutama dari gunung-gunung yang sejak dahulu, dan dengan yang terbaik dari bukit-bukit yang berabad-abad,

dan dengan yang terbaik dari bumi serta segala isinya; dengan perkenanan Dia yang diam dalam semak duri. Biarlah itu semuanya turun ke atas kepala Yusuf, ke atas batu kepala orang yang teristimewa di antara saudara-saudaranya.

Tentang Zebulon ia berkata: "Bersukacitalah, hai Zebulon, atas perjalanan-perjalananmu, dan engkau pun, hai Isakhar, atas kemah-kemahmu.

Tentang Gad ia berkata: "Terpujilah Dia yang memberi kelapangan kepada Gad. Seperti singa betina ia diam dan menerkam lengan, bahkan batu kepala.

Tentang Dan ia berkata: "Adapun Dan ialah anak singa yang melompat keluar dari Basan."

Tentang Naftali ia berkata: "Naftali kenyang dengan perkenanan dan penuh dengan berkat TUHAN; milikilah tasik dan wilayah sebelah selatan."

Tentang Asyer ia berkata: "Diberkatilah Asyer di antara anak-anak lelaki; biarlah ia disukai oleh saudara-saudaranya, dan biarlah ia mencelupkan kakinya ke dalam minyak.

Biarlah dari besi dan dari tembaga palang pintumu, selama umurmu kiranya kekuatanmu.

Allah yang abadi adalah tempat perlindunganmu, dan di bawahmu ada lengan-lengan yang kekal. Ia mengusir musuh dari depanmu dan berfirman: Punahkanlah!

Deuteronomy 33:1, 6-8, 11-16, 18, 20, 22-25, 27 (WEB)  This is the blessing with which Moses the man of God blessed the children of Israel before his death.

“Let Reuben live, and not die; Nor let his men be few.”

This is for Judah. He said, “Hear, Yahweh, the voice of Judah. Bring him in to his people. With his hands he contended for himself. You shall be a help against his adversaries.”

About Levi he said, “Your Thummim and your Urim are with your godly one, whom you proved at Massah, with whom you contended at the waters of Meribah.

Yahweh, bless his skills. Accept the work of his hands. Strike through the hips of those who rise up against him, of those who hate him, that they not rise again.”

About Benjamin he said, “The beloved of Yahweh will dwell in safety by him. He covers him all day long. He dwells between his shoulders.”

About Joseph he said, “His land is blessed by Yahweh, for the precious things of the heavens, for the dew, for the deep that couches beneath,

for the precious things of the fruits of the sun, for the precious things that the moon can yield,

for the best things of the ancient mountains, for the precious things of the everlasting hills,

for the precious things of the earth and its fullness, the good will of him who lived in the bush. Let this come on the head of Joseph, on the crown of the head of him who was separated from his brothers.

About Zebulun he said, “Rejoice, Zebulun, in your going out; and Issachar, in your tents.

About Gad he said, “He who enlarges Gad is blessed. He dwells as a lioness, and tears the arm and the crown of the head.

About Dan he said, “Dan is a lion’s cub that leaps out of Bashan.”

About Naphtali he said, “Naphtali, satisfied with favor, full of Yahweh’s blessing, Possess the west and the south.”

About Asher he said, “Asher is blessed with children. Let him be acceptable to his brothers. Let him dip his foot in oil.

Your bars will be iron and bronze. As your days, so your strength will be.

The eternal God is your dwelling place. Underneath are the everlasting arms. He thrust out the enemy from before you, and said, ‘Destroy!’

Filipi 2:1-3 (TB)  Jadi karena dalam Kristus ada nasihat, ada penghiburan kasih, ada persekutuan Roh, ada kasih mesra dan belas kasihan,

karena itu sempurnakanlah sukacitaku dengan ini: hendaklah kamu sehati sepikir, dalam satu kasih, satu jiwa, satu tujuan,

dengan tidak mencari kepentingan sendiri atau puji-pujian yang sia-sia. Sebaliknya hendaklah dengan rendah hati yang seorang menganggap yang lain lebih utama dari pada dirinya sendiri;

Philippians 2:1-3 (WEB)  If therefore there is any exhortation in Christ, if any consolation of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any tender mercies and compassion,

make my joy full by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind;

doing nothing through rivalry or through conceit, but in humility, each counting others better than himself;

Ulangan 34:5-6, 9-12 (TB)  Lalu matilah Musa, hamba TUHAN itu, di sana di tanah Moab, sesuai dengan firman TUHAN.

Dan dikuburkan-Nyalah dia di suatu lembah di tanah Moab, di tentangan Bet-Peor, dan tidak ada orang yang tahu kuburnya sampai hari ini.

Dan Yosua bin Nun penuh dengan roh kebijaksanaan, sebab Musa telah meletakkan tangannya ke atasnya. Sebab itu orang Israel mendengarkan dia dan melakukan seperti yang diperintahkan TUHAN kepada Musa.

Seperti Musa yang dikenal TUHAN dengan berhadapan muka, tidak ada lagi nabi yang bangkit di antara orang Israel,  

dalam hal segala tanda dan mujizat, yang dilakukannya atas perintah TUHAN di tanah Mesir terhadap Firaun dan terhadap semua pegawainya dan seluruh negerinya,

dan dalam hal segala perbuatan kekuasaan dan segala kedahsyatan yang besar yang dilakukan Musa di depan seluruh orang Israel.

Deuteronomy 34:5-6, 9-12 (WEB)  So Moses the servant of Yahweh died there in the land of Moab, according to Yahweh’s word.

He buried him in the valley in the land of Moab opposite Beth Peor, but no man knows where his tomb is to this day.

Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom, for Moses had laid his hands on him. The children of Israel listened to him, and did as Yahweh commanded Moses.

Since then, there has not arisen a prophet in Israel like Moses, whom Yahweh knew face to face,

in all the signs and the wonders which Yahweh sent him to do in the land of Egypt, to Pharaoh, and to all his servants, and to all his land,

and in all the mighty hand, and in all the awesome deeds, which Moses did in the sight of all Israel.

Yosua 1:1-2, 5-7 (TB)  Sesudah Musa hamba TUHAN itu mati, berfirmanlah TUHAN kepada Yosua bin Nun, abdi Musa itu, demikian:

"Hamba-Ku Musa telah mati; sebab itu bersiaplah sekarang, seberangilah sungai Yordan ini, engkau dan seluruh bangsa ini, menuju negeri yang akan Kuberikan kepada mereka, kepada orang Israel itu.

Seorang pun tidak akan dapat bertahan menghadapi engkau seumur hidupmu; seperti Aku menyertai Musa, demikianlah Aku akan menyertai engkau; Aku tidak akan membiarkan engkau dan tidak akan meninggalkan engkau.

Kuatkan dan teguhkanlah hatimu, sebab engkaulah yang akan memimpin bangsa ini memiliki negeri yang Kujanjikan dengan bersumpah kepada nenek moyang mereka untuk diberikan kepada mereka.

Hanya, kuatkan dan teguhkanlah hatimu dengan sungguh-sungguh, bertindaklah hati-hati sesuai dengan seluruh hukum yang telah diperintahkan kepadamu oleh hamba-Ku Musa; janganlah menyimpang ke kanan atau ke kiri, supaya engkau beruntung, ke mana pun engkau pergi.

Joshua 1:1-2, 5-7 (WEB)  Now after the death of Moses the servant of Yahweh, Yahweh spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ servant, saying,

“Moses my servant is dead. Now therefore arise, go across this Jordan, you and all these people, to the land which I am giving to them, even to the children of Israel.

No man will be able to stand before you all the days of your life. As I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not fail you nor forsake you.

“Be strong and courageous; for you shall cause this people to inherit the land which I swore to their fathers to give them.

Only be strong and very courageous. Be careful to observe to do according to all the law which Moses my servant commanded you. Don’t turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may have good success wherever you go.

Filipi 3:4-6 (TB)  Sekalipun aku juga ada alasan untuk menaruh percaya pada hal-hal lahiriah. Jika ada orang lain menyangka dapat menaruh percaya pada hal-hal lahiriah, aku lebih lagi:

disunat pada hari kedelapan, dari bangsa Israel, dari suku Benyamin, orang Ibrani asli, tentang pendirian terhadap hukum Taurat aku orang Farisi,

tentang kegiatan aku penganiaya jemaat, tentang kebenaran dalam mentaati hukum Taurat aku tidak bercacat.  

Philippians 3:4-6 (WEB)  though I myself might have confidence even in the flesh. If any other man thinks that he has confidence in the flesh, I yet more:

circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, a Hebrew of Hebrews; concerning the law, a Pharisee;

concerning zeal, persecuting the assembly; concerning the righteousness which is in the law, found blameless.

Yosua 2:1, 3, 6, 8-14, 23-24 (TB)  Yosua bin Nun dengan diam-diam melepas dari Sitim dua orang pengintai, katanya: "Pergilah, amat-amatilah negeri itu dan kota Yerikho." Maka pergilah mereka dan sampailah mereka ke rumah seorang perempuan sundal, yang bernama Rahab, lalu tidur di situ.

Maka raja Yerikho menyuruh orang kepada Rahab, mengatakan: "Bawalah ke luar orang-orang yang datang kepadamu itu, yang telah masuk ke dalam rumahmu, sebab mereka datang untuk menyelidik seluruh negeri ini."

Tetapi perempuan itu telah menyuruh keduanya naik ke sotoh rumah dan menyembunyikan mereka di bawah timbunan batang rami, yang ditebarkan di atas sotoh itu.

Tetapi sebelum kedua orang itu tidur, naiklah perempuan itu mendapatkan mereka di atas sotoh

dan berkata kepada orang-orang itu: "Aku tahu, bahwa TUHAN telah memberikan negeri ini kepada kamu dan bahwa kengerian terhadap kamu telah menghinggapi kami dan segala penduduk negeri ini gemetar menghadapi kamu.

Sebab kami mendengar, bahwa TUHAN telah mengeringkan air Laut Teberau di depan kamu, ketika kamu berjalan keluar dari Mesir, dan apa yang kamu lakukan kepada kedua raja orang Amori yang di seberang sungai Yordan itu, yakni kepada Sihon dan Og, yang telah kamu tumpas.  

Ketika kami mendengar itu, tawarlah hati kami dan jatuhlah semangat setiap orang menghadapi kamu, sebab TUHAN, Allahmu, ialah Allah di langit di atas dan di bumi di bawah.

Maka sekarang, bersumpahlah kiranya demi TUHAN, bahwa karena aku telah berlaku ramah terhadapmu, kamu juga akan berlaku ramah terhadap kaum keluargaku; dan berikanlah kepadaku suatu tanda yang dapat dipercaya,

bahwa kamu akan membiarkan hidup ayah dan ibuku, saudara-saudaraku yang laki-laki dan yang perempuan dan semua orang-orang mereka dan bahwa kamu akan menyelamatkan nyawa kami dari maut."

Lalu jawab kedua orang itu kepadanya: "Nyawa kamilah jaminan bagi kamu, asal jangan kaukabarkan perkara kami ini; apabila TUHAN nanti memberikan negeri ini kepada kami, maka kami akan menunjukkan terima kasih dan setia kami kepadamu."

Maka pulanglah kedua orang itu, mereka turun dari pegunungan, lalu menyeberang dan sampai kepada Yosua bin Nun, kemudian mereka ceritakan segala pengalaman mereka.

Kata mereka kepada Yosua: "TUHAN telah menyerahkan seluruh negeri ini ke dalam tangan kita, bahkan seluruh penduduk negeri itu gemetar menghadapi kita."

Joshua 2:1, 3, 6, 8-14, 23-24 (WEB)  Joshua the son of Nun secretly sent two men out of Shittim as spies, saying, “Go, view the land, including Jericho.” They went and came into the house of a prostitute whose name was Rahab, and slept there.

Jericho’s king sent to Rahab, saying, “Bring out the men who have come to you, who have entered into your house; for they have come to spy out all the land.”

But she had brought them up to the roof, and hidden them under the stalks of flax which she had laid in order on the roof.

Before they had lain down, she came up to them on the roof.

She said to the men, “I know that Yahweh has given you the land, and that the fear of you has fallen upon us, and that all the inhabitants of the land melt away before you.

For we have heard how Yahweh dried up the water of the Red Sea before you, when you came out of Egypt; and what you did to the two kings of the Amorites, who were beyond the Jordan, to Sihon and to Og, whom you utterly destroyed.

As soon as we had heard it, our hearts melted, and there wasn’t any more spirit in any man, because of you: for Yahweh your God, he is God in heaven above, and on earth beneath.

Now therefore, please swear to me by Yahweh, since I have dealt kindly with you, that you also will deal kindly with my father’s house, and give me a true sign;

and that you will save alive my father, my mother, my brothers, and my sisters, and all that they have, and will deliver our lives from death.”

The men said to her, “Our life for yours, if you don’t talk about this business of ours; and it shall be, when Yahweh gives us the land, that we will deal kindly and truly with you.”

Then the two men returned, descended from the mountain, crossed the river, and came to Joshua the son of Nun. They told him all that had happened to them.

They said to Joshua, “Truly Yahweh has delivered all the land into our hands. Moreover, all the inhabitants of the land melt away before us.”

Yosua 3:1, 7-10 (TB)  Yosua bangun pagi-pagi, lalu ia dan semua orang Israel berangkat dari Sitim, dan sampailah mereka ke sungai Yordan, maka bermalamlah mereka di sana, sebelum menyeberang.

Dan TUHAN berfirman kepada Yosua: "Pada hari inilah Aku mulai membesarkan namamu di mata seluruh orang Israel, supaya mereka tahu, bahwa seperti dahulu Aku menyertai Musa, demikianlah Aku akan menyertai engkau.

Maka kauperintahkanlah kepada para imam pengangkat tabut perjanjian itu, demikian: Setelah kamu sampai ke tepi air sungai Yordan, haruslah kamu tetap berdiri di sungai Yordan itu."

Lalu berkatalah Yosua kepada orang Israel: "Datanglah dekat dan dengarkanlah firman TUHAN, Allahmu."

Lagi kata Yosua: "Dari hal inilah akan kamu ketahui, bahwa Allah yang hidup ada di tengah-tengah kamu dan bahwa sungguh-sungguh akan dihalau-Nya orang Kanaan, orang Het, orang Hewi, orang Feris, orang Girgasi, orang Amori dan orang Yebus itu dari depan kamu:

Joshua 3:1, 7-10 (NKJV)  Then Joshua rose early in the morning; and they set out from Acacia Grove and came to the Jordan, he and all the children of Israel, and lodged there before they crossed over.

And the Lord said to Joshua, "This day I will begin to exalt you in the sight of all Israel, that they may know that, as I was with Moses, so I will be with you.

You shall command the priests who bear the ark of the covenant, saying, 'When you have come to the edge of the water of the Jordan, you shall stand in the Jordan.' "

So Joshua said to the children of Israel, "Come here, and hear the words of the Lord your God."

And Joshua said, "By this you shall know that the living God is among you, and that He will without fail drive out from before you the Canaanites and the Hittites and the Hivites and the Perizzites and the Girgashites and the Amorites and the Jebusites:

Filipi 4:4-7, 11-13, 19 (TB)  Bersukacitalah senantiasa dalam Tuhan! Sekali lagi kukatakan: Bersukacitalah!

Hendaklah kebaikan hatimu diketahui semua orang. Tuhan sudah dekat!

Janganlah hendaknya kamu kuatir tentang apa pun juga, tetapi nyatakanlah dalam segala hal keinginanmu kepada Allah dalam doa dan permohonan dengan ucapan syukur.

Damai sejahtera Allah, yang melampaui segala akal, akan memelihara hati dan pikiranmu dalam Kristus Yesus.

Kukatakan ini bukanlah karena kekurangan, sebab aku telah belajar mencukupkan diri dalam segala keadaan.

Aku tahu apa itu kekurangan dan aku tahu apa itu kelimpahan. Dalam segala hal dan dalam segala perkara tidak ada sesuatu yang merupakan rahasia bagiku; baik dalam hal kenyang, maupun dalam hal kelaparan, baik dalam hal kelimpahan maupun dalam hal kekurangan.

Segala perkara dapat kutanggung di dalam Dia yang memberi kekuatan kepadaku.

Allahku akan memenuhi segala keperluanmu menurut kekayaan dan kemuliaan-Nya dalam Kristus Yesus.

Philippians 4:4-7, 11-13, 19 (WEB)  Rejoice in the Lord always! Again I will say, “Rejoice!”

Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand.

In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.

And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.

Not that I speak because of lack, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content in it.

I know how to be humbled, and I also know how to abound. In everything and in all things I have learned the secret both to be filled and to be hungry, both to abound and to be in need.

I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me.

My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

Yosua 4:8-11, 14, 23-24 (TB)  Maka orang Israel itu melakukan seperti yang diperintahkan Yosua. Mereka mengangkat dua belas batu dari tengah-tengah sungai Yordan, seperti yang difirmankan TUHAN kepada Yosua, menurut jumlah suku Israel. Semuanya itu dibawa merekalah ke seberang, ke tempat bermalam, dan diletakkan di situ.

Pula Yosua menegakkan dua belas batu di tengah-tengah sungai Yordan itu, di tempat bekas berjejak kaki para imam pengangkat tabut perjanjian itu. Batu-batu itu masih ada di sana sampai sekarang.

Para imam pengangkat tabut itu tinggal berdiri di tengah-tengah sungai Yordan, sampai selesai dilakukan segala yang diperintahkan TUHAN kepada Yosua untuk disampaikan kepada bangsa itu, sesuai dengan segala yang diperintahkan Musa kepada Yosua. Maka menyeberanglah bangsa itu dengan cepat-cepat.

Ketika seluruh bangsa itu selesai menyeberang, maka menyeberanglah tabut TUHAN itu serta para imam di depan mata bangsa itu.

Pada waktu itulah TUHAN membesarkan nama Yosua di mata seluruh orang Israel, sehingga mereka takut kepadanya, seperti mereka takut kepada Musa seumur hidupnya.

sebab TUHAN, Allahmu, telah mengeringkan di depan kamu air sungai Yordan, sampai kamu dapat menyeberang seperti yang telah dilakukan TUHAN, Allahmu, dengan Laut Teberau, yang telah dikeringkan-Nya di depan kita, sampai kita dapat menyeberang,

supaya semua bangsa di bumi tahu, bahwa kuat tangan TUHAN, dan supaya mereka selalu takut kepada TUHAN, Allahmu."

Joshua 4:8-11, 14, 23-24 (WEB)  The children of Israel did as Joshua commanded, and took up twelve stones out of the middle of the Jordan, as Yahweh spoke to Joshua, according to the number of the tribes of the children of Israel. They carried them over with them to the place where they camped, and laid them down there.

Joshua set up twelve stones in the middle of the Jordan, in the place where the feet of the priests who bore the ark of the covenant stood; and they are there to this day.

For the priests who bore the ark stood in the middle of the Jordan until everything was finished that Yahweh commanded Joshua to speak to the people, according to all that Moses commanded Joshua; and the people hurried and passed over.

When all the people had completely crossed over, Yahweh’s ark crossed over with the priests in the presence of the people.

On that day, Yahweh magnified Joshua in the sight of all Israel; and they feared him, as they feared Moses, all the days of his life.

For Yahweh your God dried up the waters of the Jordan from before you until you had crossed over, as Yahweh your God did to the Red Sea, which he dried up from before us, until we had crossed over,

that all the peoples of the earth may know that Yahweh’s hand is mighty, and that you may fear Yahweh your God forever.’”

Yosua 5:1, 13-15 (TB)  Ketika semua raja orang Amori di sebelah barat sungai Yordan dan semua raja orang Kanaan di tepi laut mendengar, bahwa TUHAN telah mengeringkan air sungai Yordan di depan orang Israel, sampai mereka dapat menyeberang, tawarlah hati mereka dan hilanglah semangat mereka menghadapi orang Israel itu.

Ketika Yosua dekat Yerikho, ia melayangkan pandangnya, dilihatnya seorang laki-laki berdiri di depannya dengan pedang terhunus di tangannya. Yosua mendekatinya dan bertanya kepadanya: "Kawankah engkau atau lawan?"

Jawabnya: "Bukan, tetapi akulah Panglima Balatentara TUHAN. Sekarang aku datang." Lalu sujudlah Yosua dengan mukanya ke tanah, menyembah dan berkata kepadanya: "Apakah yang akan dikatakan tuanku kepada hambanya ini?"

Dan Panglima Balatentara TUHAN itu berkata kepada Yosua: "Tanggalkanlah kasutmu dari kakimu, sebab tempat engkau berdiri itu kudus." Dan Yosua berbuat demikian.

Joshua 5:1, 13-15 (NKJV)  So it was, when all the kings of the Amorites who were on the west side of the Jordan, and all the kings of the Canaanites who were by the sea, heard that the Lord had dried up the waters of the Jordan from before the children of Israel until we had crossed over, that their heart melted; and there was no spirit in them any longer because of the children of Israel.

And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted his eyes and looked, and behold, a Man stood opposite him with His sword drawn in His hand. And Joshua went to Him and said to Him, "Are You for us or for our adversaries?"

So He said, "No, but as Commander of the army of the Lord I have now come." And Joshua fell on his face to the earth and worshiped, and said to Him, "What does my Lord say to His servant?"

Then the Commander of the Lord's army said to Joshua, "Take your sandal off your foot, for the place where you stand is holy." And Joshua did so.

Kolose 1:15-20 (TB)  Ia adalah gambar Allah yang tidak kelihatan, yang sulung, lebih utama dari segala yang diciptakan,

karena di dalam Dialah telah diciptakan segala sesuatu, yang ada di sorga dan yang ada di bumi, yang kelihatan dan yang tidak kelihatan, baik singgasana, maupun kerajaan, baik pemerintah, maupun penguasa; segala sesuatu diciptakan oleh Dia dan untuk Dia.

Ia ada terlebih dahulu dari segala sesuatu dan segala sesuatu ada di dalam Dia.

Ialah kepala tubuh, yaitu jemaat. Ialah yang sulung, yang pertama bangkit dari antara orang mati, sehingga Ia yang lebih utama dalam segala sesuatu.

Karena seluruh kepenuhan Allah berkenan diam di dalam Dia,

dan oleh Dialah Ia memperdamaikan segala sesuatu dengan diri-Nya, baik yang ada di bumi, maupun yang ada di sorga, sesudah Ia mengadakan pendamaian oleh darah salib Kristus.

Colossians 1:15-20 (NKJV)  He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.

For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.

And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.

And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence.

For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell,

and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross.

Yosua 6:1-2, 6-8, 15-20, 23-27 (TB)  Dalam pada itu Yerikho telah menutup pintu gerbangnya; telah tertutup kota itu karena orang Israel; tidak ada orang keluar atau masuk.

Berfirmanlah TUHAN kepada Yosua: "Ketahuilah, Aku serahkan ke tanganmu Yerikho ini beserta rajanya dan pahlawan-pahlawannya yang gagah perkasa.

Kemudian Yosua bin Nun memanggil para imam dan berkata kepada mereka: "Angkatlah tabut perjanjian itu dan tujuh orang imam harus membawa tujuh sangkakala tanduk domba di depan tabut TUHAN."

Dan kepada bangsa itu dikatakannya: "Majulah, kelilingilah kota itu, dan orang-orang bersenjata harus berjalan di depan tabut TUHAN."

Segera sesudah Yosua berkata kepada bangsa itu, maka berjalanlah maju ketujuh orang imam, yang membawa ketujuh sangkakala tanduk domba itu di hadapan TUHAN, lalu mereka meniup sangkakala, sedang tabut perjanjian TUHAN mengikut mereka.

Tetapi pada hari yang ketujuh mereka bangun pagi-pagi, ketika fajar menyingsing, dan mengelilingi kota tujuh kali dengan cara yang sama; hanya pada hari itu mereka mengelilingi kota itu tujuh kali.

Lalu pada ketujuh kalinya, ketika para imam meniup sangkakala, berkatalah Yosua kepada bangsa itu: "Bersoraklah, sebab TUHAN telah menyerahkan kota ini kepadamu!

Dan kota itu dengan segala isinya akan dikhususkan bagi TUHAN untuk dimusnahkan; hanya Rahab, perempuan sundal itu, akan tetap hidup, ia dengan semua orang yang bersama-sama dengan dia dalam rumah itu, karena ia telah menyembunyikan orang suruhan yang kita suruh.

Tetapi kamu ini, jagalah dirimu terhadap barang-barang yang dikhususkan untuk dimusnahkan, supaya jangan kamu mengambil sesuatu dari barang-barang yang dikhususkan itu setelah mengkhususkannya dan dengan demikian membawa kemusnahan atas perkemahan orang Israel dan mencelakakannya.

Segala emas dan perak serta barang-barang tembaga dan besi adalah kudus bagi TUHAN; semuanya itu akan dimasukkan ke dalam perbendaharaan TUHAN."

Lalu bersoraklah bangsa itu, sedang sangkakala ditiup; segera sesudah bangsa itu mendengar bunyi sangkakala, bersoraklah mereka dengan sorak yang nyaring. Maka runtuhlah tembok itu, lalu mereka memanjat masuk ke dalam kota, masing-masing langsung ke depan, dan merebut kota itu.  

Lalu masuklah kedua pengintai muda itu dan membawa ke luar Rahab dan ayahnya, ibunya, saudara-saudaranya dan semua orang yang bersama-sama dengan dia, bahkan seluruh kaumnya dibawa mereka ke luar, lalu mereka menunjukkan kepadanya tempat tinggal di luar perkemahan orang Israel.

Tetapi kota itu dan segala sesuatu yang ada di dalamnya dibakar mereka dengan api; hanya emas dan perak, barang-barang tembaga dan besi ditaruh mereka di dalam perbendaharaan rumah TUHAN.

Demikianlah Rahab, perempuan sundal itu dan keluarganya serta semua orang yang bersama-sama dengan dia dibiarkan hidup oleh Yosua. Maka diamlah perempuan itu di tengah-tengah orang Israel sampai sekarang, karena ia telah menyembunyikan orang suruhan yang disuruh Yosua mengintai Yerikho.  

Pada waktu itu bersumpahlah Yosua, katanya: "Terkutuklah di hadapan TUHAN orang yang bangkit untuk membangun kembali kota Yerikho ini; dengan membayarkan nyawa anaknya yang sulung ia akan meletakkan dasar kota itu dan dengan membayarkan nyawa anaknya yang bungsu ia akan memasang pintu gerbangnya!"

Dan TUHAN menyertai Yosua dan terdengarlah kabar tentang dia di seluruh negeri itu.

Joshua 6:1-2, 6-8, 15-20, 23-27 (NKJV)  Now Jericho was securely shut up because of the children of Israel; none went out, and none came in.

And the Lord said to Joshua: "See! I have given Jericho into your hand, its king, and the mighty men of valor.

Then Joshua the son of Nun called the priests and said to them, "Take up the ark of the covenant, and let seven priests bear seven trumpets of rams' horns before the ark of the Lord."

And he said to the people, "Proceed, and march around the city, and let him who is armed advance before the ark of the Lord."

So it was, when Joshua had spoken to the people, that the seven priests bearing the seven trumpets of rams' horns before the Lord advanced and blew the trumpets, and the ark of the covenant of the Lord followed them.

But it came to pass on the seventh day that they rose early, about the dawning of the day, and marched around the city seven times in the same manner. On that day only they marched around the city seven times.

And the seventh time it happened, when the priests blew the trumpets, that Joshua said to the people: "Shout, for the Lord has given you the city!

Now the city shall be doomed by the Lord to destruction, it and all who are in it. Only Rahab the harlot shall live, she and all who are with her in the house, because she hid the messengers that we sent.

And you, by all means abstain from the accursed things, lest you become accursed when you take of the accursed things, and make the camp of Israel a curse, and trouble it.

But all the silver and gold, and vessels of bronze and iron, are consecrated to the Lord; they shall come into the treasury of the Lord."

So the people shouted when the priests blew the trumpets. And it happened when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat. Then the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city.

And the young men who had been spies went in and brought out Rahab, her father, her mother, her brothers, and all that she had. So they brought out all her relatives and left them outside the camp of Israel.

But they burned the city and all that was in it with fire. Only the silver and gold, and the vessels of bronze and iron, they put into the treasury of the house of the Lord.

And Joshua spared Rahab the harlot, her father's household, and all that she had. So she dwells in Israel to this day, because she hid the messengers whom Joshua sent to spy out Jericho.

Then Joshua charged them at that time, saying, "Cursed be the man before the Lord who rises up and builds this city Jericho; he shall lay its foundation with his firstborn, and with his youngest he shall set up its gates."

So the Lord was with Joshua, and his fame spread throughout all the country.

Yosua 7:11-12 (TB)  Orang Israel telah berbuat dosa, mereka melanggar perjanjian-Ku yang Kuperintahkan kepada mereka, mereka mengambil sesuatu dari barang-barang yang dikhususkan itu, mereka mencurinya, mereka menyembunyikannya, dan mereka menaruhnya di antara barang-barangnya.

Sebab itu orang Israel tidak dapat bertahan menghadapi musuhnya. Mereka membelakangi musuhnya, sebab mereka itu pun dikhususkan untuk ditumpas. Aku tidak akan menyertai kamu lagi jika barang-barang yang dikhususkan itu tidak kamu punahkan dari tengah-tengahmu.

Joshua 7:11-12 (WEB)  Israel has sinned. Yes, they have even transgressed my covenant which I commanded them. Yes, they have even taken some of the devoted things, and have also stolen, and also deceived. They have even put it among their own stuff.

Therefore the children of Israel can’t stand before their enemies. They turn their backs before their enemies, because they have become devoted for destruction. I will not be with you any more, unless you destroy the devoted things from among you.

Kolose 2:1-3 (TB)  Karena aku mau, supaya kamu tahu, betapa beratnya perjuangan yang kulakukan untuk kamu, dan untuk mereka yang di Laodikia dan untuk semuanya, yang belum mengenal aku pribadi,

supaya hati mereka terhibur dan mereka bersatu dalam kasih, sehingga mereka memperoleh segala kekayaan dan keyakinan pengertian, dan mengenal rahasia Allah, yaitu Kristus,

sebab di dalam Dialah tersembunyi segala harta hikmat dan pengetahuan.

Colossians 2:1-3 (WEB)  For I desire to have you know how greatly I struggle for you, and for those at Laodicea, and for as many as have not seen my face in the flesh;

that their hearts may be comforted, they being knit together in love, and gaining all riches of the full assurance of understanding, that they may know the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ,

in whom all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden.

Yosua 8:1-2, 18-19, 21, 23, 26-27 (TB)  Kemudian berfirmanlah TUHAN kepada Yosua: "Janganlah takut dan janganlah tawar hati; bawalah seluruh tentara dan bersiaplah, majulah ke Ai. Ketahuilah, Aku serahkan kepadamu raja negeri Ai, rakyatnya, kotanya dan negerinya,

dan haruslah kaulakukan kepada Ai dan rajanya, seperti yang kaulakukan kepada Yerikho dan rajanya; hanya barang-barangnya dan ternaknya boleh kamu jarah. Suruhlah orang bersembunyi di belakang kota itu."

Lalu berfirmanlah TUHAN kepada Yosua: "Acungkanlah lembing yang ada di tanganmu ke arah Ai, sebab Aku menyerahkan kota itu ke dalam tanganmu." Maka Yosua mengacungkan lembing yang di tangannya ke arah kota itu.

Ketika diacungkannya tangannya, maka segeralah bangun orang-orang yang bersembunyi itu dari tempatnya, mereka berlari memasuki kota, merebutnya, lalu segera membakar kota itu.

Ketika Yosua dan seluruh Israel melihat, bahwa orang-orang yang bersembunyi itu telah merebut kota dan bahwa asap kota itu naik membubung, berbaliklah mereka, lalu menewaskan orang-orang Ai.

Tetapi raja Ai ditangkap mereka hidup-hidup dan dihadapkan kepada Yosua.

Dan Yosua tidak menarik tangannya yang mengacungkan lembing itu, sebelum seluruh penduduk kota Ai ditumpasnya.

Hanya ternak dan barang-barang kota itu dijarah oleh orang Israel, sesuai dengan firman TUHAN, yang diperintahkan-Nya kepada Yosua.

Joshua 8:1-2, 18-19, 21, 23, 26-27 (WEB)  Yahweh said to Joshua, “Don’t be afraid, and don’t be dismayed. Take all the warriors with you, and arise, go up to Ai. Behold, I have given into your hand the king of Ai, with his people, his city, and his land.

You shall do to Ai and her king as you did to Jericho and her king, except you shall take its goods and its livestock for yourselves. Set an ambush for the city behind it.”

Yahweh said to Joshua, “Stretch out the javelin that is in your hand toward Ai, for I will give it into your hand.” Joshua stretched out the javelin that was in his hand toward the city.

The ambush arose quickly out of their place, and they ran as soon as he had stretched out his hand and entered into the city and took it. They hurried and set the city on fire.

When Joshua and all Israel saw that the ambush had taken the city, and that the smoke of the city ascended, then they turned back and killed the men of Ai.

They captured the king of Ai alive, and brought him to Joshua.

For Joshua didn’t draw back his hand, with which he stretched out the javelin, until he had utterly destroyed all the inhabitants of Ai.

Israel took for themselves only the livestock and the goods of that city, according to Yahweh’s word which he commanded Joshua.

Yosua 9:1-6, 15-16, 22-23, 27 (TB)  Ketika terdengar oleh raja-raja di sebelah barat sungai Yordan, di Pegunungan, di Daerah Bukit dan sepanjang tepi pantai Laut Besar sampai ke seberang gunung Libanon, yakni raja-raja orang Het, orang Amori, orang Kanaan, orang Feris, orang Hewi dan orang Yebus,

bergabunglah mereka dengan seia sekata untuk memerangi Yosua dan orang Israel.

Tetapi ketika terdengar kepada penduduk negeri Gibeon apa yang dilakukan Yosua terhadap Yerikho dan Ai,

maka mereka pun bertindak dengan memakai akal: mereka pergi menyediakan bekal, mengambil karung yang buruk-buruk untuk dimuatkan ke atas keledai mereka dan kirbat anggur yang buruk-buruk, yang robek dan dijahit kembali,

dan kasut yang buruk-buruk dan ditambal untuk dikenakan pada kaki mereka dan pakaian yang buruk-buruk untuk dikenakan oleh mereka, sedang segala roti bekal mereka telah kering, tinggal remah-remah belaka.

Demikianlah mereka pergi kepada Yosua, ke tempat perkemahan di Gilgal. Berkatalah mereka kepadanya dan kepada orang-orang Israel itu: "Kami ini datang dari negeri jauh; maka sekarang ikatlah perjanjian dengan kami."

Maka Yosua mengadakan persahabatan dengan mereka dan mengikat perjanjian dengan mereka, bahwa ia akan membiarkan mereka hidup; dan para pemimpin umat itu bersumpah kepada mereka.

Tetapi setelah lewat tiga hari, sesudah orang Israel mengikat perjanjian dengan orang-orang itu, terdengarlah oleh mereka, bahwa orang-orang itu tinggal dekat mereka, bahkan diam di tengah-tengah mereka.

Lalu Yosua memanggil mereka dan berkata kepada mereka, demikian: "Mengapa kamu menipu kami dengan berkata: Kami ini tinggal sangat jauh dari pada kamu, padahal kamu diam di tengah-tengah kami?

Oleh sebab itu, terkutuklah kamu dan tak putus-putusnya kamu menjadi hamba, tukang belah kayu dan tukang timba air untuk rumah Allahku."

Dan pada waktu itu Yosua menjadikan mereka tukang belah kayu dan tukang timba air untuk umat itu dan untuk mezbah TUHAN, sampai sekarang, di tempat yang akan dipilih-Nya.

Joshua 9:1-6, 15-16, 22-23, 27 (WEB)  When all the kings who were beyond the Jordan, in the hill country, and in the lowland, and on all the shore of the great sea in front of Lebanon, the Hittite, the Amorite, the Canaanite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite, heard of it

they gathered themselves together to fight with Joshua and with Israel, with one accord.

But when the inhabitants of Gibeon heard what Joshua had done to Jericho and to Ai,

they also resorted to a ruse, and went and made as if they had been ambassadors, and took old sacks on their donkeys, and old, torn-up and bound up wine skins,

and old and patched sandals on their feet, and wore old garments. All the bread of their food supply was dry and moldy.

They went to Joshua at the camp at Gilgal, and said to him and to the men of Israel, “We have come from a far country. Now therefore make a covenant with us.”

Joshua made peace with them, and made a covenant with them, to let them live. The princes of the congregation swore to them.

At the end of three days after they had made a covenant with them, they heard that they were their neighbors, and that they lived among them.

Joshua called for them, and he spoke to them, saying, “Why have you deceived us, saying, ‘We are very far from you,’ when you live among us?

Now therefore you are cursed, and some of you will never fail to be slaves, both wood cutters and drawers of water for the house of my God.”

That day Joshua made them wood cutters and drawers of water for the congregation and for Yahweh’s altar to this day, in the place which he should choose.

Kolose 3:12-24 (TB)  Karena itu, sebagai orang-orang pilihan Allah yang dikuduskan dan dikasihi-Nya, kenakanlah belas kasihan, kemurahan, kerendahan hati, kelemahlembutan dan kesabaran.

Sabarlah kamu seorang terhadap yang lain, dan ampunilah seorang akan yang lain apabila yang seorang menaruh dendam terhadap yang lain, sama seperti Tuhan telah mengampuni kamu, kamu perbuat jugalah demikian.

Dan di atas semuanya itu: kenakanlah kasih, sebagai pengikat yang mempersatukan dan menyempurnakan.

Hendaklah damai sejahtera Kristus memerintah dalam hatimu, karena untuk itulah kamu telah dipanggil menjadi satu tubuh. Dan bersyukurlah.

Hendaklah perkataan Kristus diam dengan segala kekayaannya di antara kamu, sehingga kamu dengan segala hikmat mengajar dan menegur seorang akan yang lain dan sambil menyanyikan mazmur, dan puji-pujian dan nyanyian rohani, kamu mengucap syukur kepada Allah di dalam hatimu.  

Dan segala sesuatu yang kamu lakukan dengan perkataan atau perbuatan, lakukanlah semuanya itu dalam nama Tuhan Yesus, sambil mengucap syukur oleh Dia kepada Allah, Bapa kita.

Hai isteri-isteri, tunduklah kepada suamimu, sebagaimana seharusnya di dalam Tuhan.

Hai suami-suami, kasihilah isterimu dan janganlah berlaku kasar terhadap dia.

Hai anak-anak, taatilah orang tuamu dalam segala hal, karena itulah yang indah di dalam Tuhan.

Hai bapa-bapa, janganlah sakiti hati anakmu, supaya jangan tawar hatinya.

Hai hamba-hamba, taatilah tuanmu yang di dunia ini dalam segala hal, jangan hanya di hadapan mereka saja untuk menyenangkan mereka, melainkan dengan tulus hati karena takut akan Tuhan.

Apa pun juga yang kamu perbuat, perbuatlah dengan segenap hatimu seperti untuk Tuhan dan bukan untuk manusia.

Kamu tahu, bahwa dari Tuhanlah kamu akan menerima bagian yang ditentukan bagimu sebagai upah. Kristus adalah tuan dan kamu hamba-Nya.

Colossians 3:12-24 (WEB)  Put on therefore, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, humility, and perseverance;

bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do.

Above all these things, walk in love, which is the bond of perfection.

And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body, and be thankful.

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; in all wisdom teaching and admonishing one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your heart to the Lord.

Whatever you do, in word or in deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father, through him.

Wives, be in subjection to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.

Husbands, love your wives, and don’t be bitter against them.

Children, obey your parents in all things, for this pleases the Lord.

Fathers, don’t provoke your children, so that they won’t be discouraged.

Servants, obey in all things those who are your masters according to the flesh, not just when they are looking, as men pleasers, but in singleness of heart, fearing God.

And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men,

knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.

Yosua 10:1-2, 5, 7-14, 20-21 (TB)  Setelah terdengar oleh Adoni-Zedek, raja Yerusalem, bahwa Yosua telah merebut Ai dan telah menumpasnya — seperti yang dilakukannya terhadap Yerikho dan terhadap rajanya, demikianlah juga dilakukannya terhadap Ai dan terhadap rajanya — dan bahwa penduduk kota Gibeon telah mengadakan ikatan persahabatan dengan orang Israel dan diam di tengah-tengah mereka,

maka sangat takutlah orang, sebab Gibeon itu kota yang besar, seperti salah satu kota kerajaan, bahkan lebih besar dari Ai, dan semua orangnya adalah pahlawan.

Lalu kelima raja orang Amori itu berkumpul dan bergerak maju: raja Yerusalem, raja Hebron, raja Yarmut, raja Lakhis dan raja Eglon, mereka beserta seluruh tentara mereka. Mereka berkemah mengepung Gibeon dan berperang melawannya.

Lalu Yosua bergerak maju dari Gilgal, dia dan seluruh tentara yang bersama-sama dengan dia, semuanya pahlawan yang gagah perkasa.

Berfirmanlah TUHAN kepada Yosua: "Janganlah takut kepada mereka, sebab Aku menyerahkan mereka kepadamu. Tidak seorang pun dari mereka yang akan dapat bertahan menghadapi engkau."

Lalu Yosua menyerang mereka dengan tiba-tiba, setelah semalam-malaman bergerak maju dari Gilgal.

Dan TUHAN mengacaukan mereka di depan orang Israel, sehingga Yosua menimbulkan kekalahan yang besar di antara mereka dekat Gibeon, mengejar mereka ke arah pendakian Bet-Horon dan memukul mereka mundur sampai dekat Azeka dan Makeda.

Sedang mereka melarikan diri di depan orang Israel dan baru di lereng Bet-Horon, maka TUHAN melempari mereka dengan batu-batu besar dari langit, sampai ke Azeka, sehingga mereka mati. Yang mati kena hujan batu itu ada lebih banyak dari yang dibunuh oleh orang Israel dengan pedang.

Lalu Yosua berbicara kepada TUHAN pada hari TUHAN menyerahkan orang Amori itu kepada orang Israel; ia berkata di hadapan orang Israel: "Matahari, berhentilah di atas Gibeon dan engkau, bulan, di atas lembah Ayalon!"

Maka berhentilah matahari dan bulan pun tidak bergerak, sampai bangsa itu membalaskan dendamnya kepada musuhnya. Bukankah hal itu telah tertulis dalam Kitab Orang Jujur? Matahari tidak bergerak di tengah langit dan lambat-lambat terbenam kira-kira sehari penuh.  

Belum pernah ada hari seperti itu, baik dahulu maupun kemudian, bahwa TUHAN mendengarkan permohonan seorang manusia secara demikian, sebab yang berperang untuk orang Israel ialah TUHAN.

Setelah Yosua dan orang Israel selesai menimbulkan kekalahan yang besar sekali di antara mereka, sampai mereka dihancurkan sama sekali — beberapa orang dari mereka dapat lolos dan masuk ke kota-kota yang diperkuat —

pulanglah seluruh bangsa itu dengan selamat kepada Yosua ke tempat perkemahan, di Makeda. Tidak ada seorang pun yang berani melemparkan kata-kata ancaman terhadap orang Israel.

Joshua 10:1-2, 5, 7-14, 20-21 (WEB)  Now when Adoni-Zedek king of Jerusalem heard how Joshua had taken Ai, and had utterly destroyed it; as he had done to Jericho and her king, so he had done to Ai and her king; and how the inhabitants of Gibeon had made peace with Israel, and were among them,

they were very afraid, because Gibeon was a great city, as one of the royal cities, and because it was greater than Ai, and all its men were mighty.

Therefore the five kings of the Amorites, the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, and the king of Eglon, gathered themselves together and went up, they and all their armies, and encamped against Gibeon, and made war against it.

So Joshua went up from Gilgal, he, and the whole army with him, including all the mighty men of valor.

Yahweh said to Joshua, “Don’t fear them, for I have delivered them into your hands. Not a man of them will stand before you.”

Joshua therefore came to them suddenly. He marched from Gilgal all night.

Yahweh confused them before Israel. He killed them with a great slaughter at Gibeon, and chased them by the way of the ascent of Beth Horon, and struck them to Azekah and to Makkedah.

As they fled from before Israel, while they were at the descent of Beth Horon, Yahweh hurled down great stones from the sky on them to Azekah, and they died. There were more who died from the hailstones than those whom the children of Israel killed with the sword.

Then Joshua spoke to Yahweh in the day when Yahweh delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel. He said in the sight of Israel, “Sun, stand still on Gibeon! You, moon, stop in the valley of Aijalon!”

The sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the nation had avenged themselves of their enemies. Isn’t this written in the book of Jashar? The sun stayed in the middle of the sky, and didn’t hurry to go down about a whole day.

There was no day like that before it or after it, that Yahweh listened to the voice of a man; for Yahweh fought for Israel.

When Joshua and the children of Israel had finished killing them with a very great slaughter until they were consumed, and the remnant which remained of them had entered into the fortified cities,

all the people returned to the camp to Joshua at Makkedah in peace. None moved his tongue against any of the children of Israel.

Yosua 11:1-8, 18-20, 23 (TB)  Setelah hal itu terdengar kepada Yabin, raja Hazor, diutusnyalah orang kepada Yobab, raja Madon, dan kepada raja negeri Simron, kepada raja negeri Akhsaf,

serta kepada raja-raja yang di sebelah utara, di Pegunungan, di Araba-Yordan di sebelah selatan Kinerot, di Daerah Bukit dan di tanah bukit Dor di sebelah barat,

yakni raja-raja orang Kanaan di sebelah timur dan di sebelah barat, orang Amori, orang Het, orang Feris, orang Yebus di pegunungan dan orang Hewi di kaki gunung Hermon, di tanah Mizpa.

Kemudian keluarlah raja-raja ini bersama-sama semua tentaranya, amat banyak rakyat, seperti pasir di tepi laut banyaknya, beserta sangat banyak kuda dan kereta.

Raja-raja ini bersekutu dan datang berkemah bersama-sama dekat mata air Merom untuk memerangi orang Israel.

Lalu TUHAN berkata kepada Yosua: "Janganlah takut menghadapi mereka, sebab besok kira-kira waktu ini Aku menyerahkan mereka mati terbunuh semuanya kepada orang Israel. Kuda mereka haruslah kamu lumpuhkan dan kereta mereka haruslah kamu bakar dengan api."

Lalu Yosua dengan seluruh tentaranya mendatangi mereka dengan tiba-tiba dekat mata air Merom, dan menyerbu mereka.

Dan TUHAN menyerahkan mereka kepada orang Israel. Mereka dikalahkan dan dikejar sampai Sidon-Besar dan sampai Misrefot-Maim, dan sampai lembah Mizpa yang di sebelah timur. Demikianlah mereka dihancurkan, sehingga tidak seorang pun dari mereka yang dibiarkan lolos.

Lama Yosua melakukan perang melawan semua raja itu.

Tidak ada satu kota pun yang mengadakan ikatan persahabatan dengan orang Israel, selain dari pada orang Hewi yang diam di Gibeon itu, semuanya telah direbut mereka dengan berperang.

Karena TUHAN yang menyebabkan hati orang-orang itu menjadi keras, sehingga mereka berperang melawan orang Israel, supaya mereka ditumpas, dan jangan dikasihani, tetapi dipunahkan, seperti yang diperintahkan TUHAN kepada Musa.  

Demikianlah Yosua merebut seluruh negeri itu sesuai dengan segala yang difirmankan TUHAN kepada Musa. Dan Yosua pun memberikan negeri itu kepada orang Israel menjadi milik pusaka mereka, menurut pembagian suku mereka. Lalu amanlah negeri itu, berhenti dari berperang.

Joshua 11:1-8, 18-20, 23 (NKJV)  And it came to pass, when Jabin king of Hazor heard these things, that he sent to Jobab king of Madon, to the king of Shimron, to the king of Achshaph,

and to the kings who were from the north, in the mountains, in the plain south of Chinneroth, in the lowland, and in the heights of Dor on the west,

to the Canaanites in the east and in the west, the Amorite, the Hittite, the Perizzite, the Jebusite in the mountains, and the Hivite below Hermon in the land of Mizpah.

So they went out, they and all their armies with them, as many people as the sand that is on the seashore in multitude, with very many horses and chariots.

And when all these kings had met together, they came and camped together at the waters of Merom to fight against Israel.

But the Lord said to Joshua, "Do not be afraid because of them, for tomorrow about this time I will deliver all of them slain before Israel. You shall hamstring their horses and burn their chariots with fire."

So Joshua and all the people of war with him came against them suddenly by the waters of Merom, and they attacked them.

And the Lord delivered them into the hand of Israel, who defeated them and chased them to Greater Sidon, to the Brook Misrephoth, and to the Valley of Mizpah eastward; they attacked them until they left none of them remaining.

Joshua made war a long time with all those kings.

There was not a city that made peace with the children of Israel, except the Hivites, the inhabitants of Gibeon. All the others they took in battle.

For it was of the Lord to harden their hearts, that they should come against Israel in battle, that He might utterly destroy them, and that they might receive no mercy, but that He might destroy them, as the Lord had commanded Moses.

So Joshua took the whole land, according to all that the Lord had said to Moses; and Joshua gave it as an inheritance to Israel according to their divisions by their tribes. Then the land rested from war.

Kolose 4:1-2, 5-6 (TB)  Hai tuan-tuan, berlakulah adil dan jujur terhadap hambamu; ingatlah, kamu juga mempunyai tuan di sorga.

Bertekunlah dalam doa dan dalam pada itu berjaga-jagalah sambil mengucap syukur.

Hiduplah dengan penuh hikmat terhadap orang-orang luar, pergunakanlah waktu yang ada.

Hendaklah kata-katamu senantiasa penuh kasih, jangan hambar, sehingga kamu tahu, bagaimana kamu harus memberi jawab kepada setiap orang.

Colossians 4:1-2, 5-6 (NKJV)  Masters, give your bondservants what is just and fair, knowing that you also have a Master in heaven.

Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving;

Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time.

Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one.

Yosua 12:6 (TB)  Musa, hamba TUHAN itu, beserta orang Israel, telah mengalahkan mereka, dan Musa, hamba TUHAN itu, telah memberikan daerah itu kepada orang Ruben, orang Gad dan suku Manasye yang setengah itu, menjadi milik mereka.

Joshua 12:6 (NKJV)  These Moses the servant of the Lord and the children of Israel had conquered; and Moses the servant of the Lord had given it as a possession to the Reubenites, the Gadites, and half the tribe of Manasseh.

Yosua 13:1, 6-7, 14 (TB)  Setelah Yosua menjadi tua dan lanjut umurnya, berfirmanlah TUHAN kepadanya: "Engkau telah tua dan lanjut umur, dan dari negeri ini masih amat banyak yang belum diduduki.

semua orang yang diam di pegunungan, mulai dari gunung Libanon sampai ke Misrefot-Maim; semua orang Sidon. Aku sendiri akan menghalau mereka dari depan orang Israel; hanya undikanlah dahulu negeri itu di antara orang Israel menjadi milik pusaka mereka, seperti yang Kuperintahkan kepadamu.  

Oleh sebab itu, bagikanlah negeri ini kepada suku yang sembilan itu dan kepada suku Manasye yang setengah itu menjadi milik pusaka mereka."

Hanya kepada suku Lewi tidak diberikan milik pusaka: yang menjadi milik pusakanya ialah TUHAN, Allah Israel, seperti yang dijanjikan-Nya kepada mereka.  

Joshua 13:1, 6-7, 14 (NKJV)  Now Joshua was old, advanced in years. And the Lord said to him: "You are old, advanced in years, and there remains very much land yet to be possessed.

all the inhabitants of the mountains from Lebanon as far as the Brook Misrephoth, and all the Sidonians--them I will drive out from before the children of Israel; only divide it by lot to Israel as an inheritance, as I have commanded you.

Now therefore, divide this land as an inheritance to the nine tribes and half the tribe of Manasseh."

Only to the tribe of Levi he had given no inheritance; the sacrifices of the Lord God of Israel made by fire are their inheritance, as He said to them.
